Dr. Downey is committed to providing personal and meaningful care to help each patient achieve the best possible vision and the healthiest eyes. He is excited to serve and help each day as he strives for quality and intentional care that benefits each person.
Dr. Downey was born and raised in Anniston, Alabama. He received a B.S degree in Biology from Samford University in 2003 and his Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from the UAB School of Optometry in 2007. He has many years of experience caring for patients in Alabama while practicing in Anniston, Jacksonville, Trussville, Lincoln, and Alexandria. He opened his primary private practice in Alexandria in 2010. He enjoys caring for patients of all ages, from infants to seniors.
Dr. Downey and his wife, Ruth, have four young children. He enjoys the outdoors and loves to travel and see the national parks!
